What does the injection contain?

Kenalog’s active ingredient is a corticosteroid called Triamcinolone. Triamcinolone works by suppressing the body’s inflammatory response to allergens including pollen.

Is it dangerous?

Kenalog is a licensed product commonly used for the suppression of allergies. It has wide use both privately and within the NHS, for a variety of indications suppressing inflammation.

Who is the injection for?

The kenalog hay fever injection is recommended to anyone above the age of 18 suffering with severe hay fever symptoms.

How long do the effects of the injection last?

The injection can last anywhere between 3-6 months, keeping you sneeze-free all summer long!

When can I expect to see results?

Patients can experience relief anywhere between 1-48 hours following treatment.

Should I continue taking my allergy medication?

All symptoms will subside within 48 hours. There should be no need for any additional medication.

Dosage Information

Primary recommended dosage begins at 40mg but a higher dose of 80mg is advised for patients who weigh 60kg+ as well as those who suffer with extreme symptoms.

Kenalog, like all prescribed medication carries a risk of side-effects, although these are extremely rare at the dose prescribed.
